Hyperobject will be a housing cooperative that is: substance-free, centering trans experiences, run by consensus, and creating space for trans people to meet and live and eat and hang and take care of each other. Hyperobject will be a group of people who live and organize together; cook and eat meals, hold events, have meetings, manage the organization, take care of the house, acquire groceries, watch movies, pool resources, laugh, and work together to create more stability and safety in the lives of trans people living at the house and in the wider community. Hyperobject will exist not just as an alternative to traditional nuclear family living arrangements, but in direct opposition to that as the default way to organize life and care. Hyperobject will be a 5-7 bedroom house in so-called Kalamazoo and will cost (estimated) between $450-$550 a month to live at, covering all costs including utilities and some shared food. It will be an LLC controlled by the members living at the house. Initially it will rent a house from a landlord under a master lease, and hopefully eventually it will own it's own house. Hyperobject will exist by the end of 2025.
